Transcendence a site specific installation in response to the on-going wars and conflicts in the Middle East. Piles of shattered glass of various colors, create three prayer rugs facing east, each decorated with symbols of paradise: various manifestations of a tree of life, with ash filling the spaces in between. Another pile of glass adhere to the window, and complete its pyramid shape in its reflection, transposing its borders in the space.

Passage is a site-specific ephemeral installation in response to the on-going wars and conflicts in the Middle East. Piles of shattered glass create a “prayer rug” facing the Qibleh, the direction of daily prayer in Islam, decorated with variations on a tree of life, a reference to the passageway to paradise, with ash filling the spaces in between. A pile of glass adheres to the surrounding walls, completing the “carpet” while transposing its borders in the space.
